Durability methodology
Durability describes a player’s historical availability. It is context for roster planning, not an injury diagnosis or medical forecast.
Historical context
Durability looks at how consistently a player has been available for NFL games during the relevant part of his career.
Recent history can matter differently from older history, and limited samples are treated with appropriate caution.
How it is used
- To add availability context to Player Roster Value.
- To help explain the difference between a dependable contributor and a player with a less settled availability record.
- To support Expected Games without treating the two measures as identical.
Limits
No NFL history does not mean poor durability. Rookies and players with limited evidence should be presented as uncertain rather than automatically positive or negative.
