Roster Delta methodology

Roster Delta compares two consistent views of the same team so roster moves can be judged by their football impact rather than by activity alone.

What it answers

Roster Delta is built to answer a simple question: did the team become stronger, weaker, or meaningfully different after its roster moves?

The comparison begins with a defined end-of-season reference point and looks at the best available picture of the current roster.

What we consider

  • Who arrived, departed, stayed, was drafted, re-signed, traded, waived, or changed roster status.
  • How important the affected players are expected to be.
  • Which position rooms and units improved, declined, or changed in character.
  • How confident we are in the available evidence.

How to read it

Roster Delta is not a transaction count or a win prediction. It is a structured explanation of roster change and its likely football meaning.
